How to make a fish pond
Building a fish pond in the garden or in your backyard can be a most satisfying experience, since you will have a habitat nearby where, over time, more and more types of species will arrive (frogs, birds, insects, etc.). Here are some tips to keep in mind before learning how to make a fish pond:
- The fish pond should be in a semi-shady area.
- You should avoid getting debris or debris into the pond.
- The pond should have a drain with grates for when it rains, as this will prevent the water from overflowing. The drain must be at the bottom of the pond and must have a sump or anti-vortex screen toprevent fish from being sucked in.
- The fish pond should be at least 1 meter deep.
